To facilitate the understanding of COVID-19 official data in Mexico, I developed a website that depicts the main features of the COVID-19 cases in the country and each of its 32 states. Here is the link: Analysis of COVID-19 cases in MX.
I am a biostatistician working at the Product Development department of Genentech/Roche. Previous to that, I studied my Ph.D. in Statistics at Colorado State University under the advisement of Dr. Mary Meyer and Dr. Jean Opsomer, where we developed novel methodologies to improve survey estimation and inference by considering shape-restricted regression techniques. I also hold a M.S. in Statistics from Colorado State University and a B.S. in Mathematics from Universidad Autonoma de Yucatan .
Before college, I participated in national and international competitions of the Mathematical Olympiad. I earned a Bronze Medal in the International Mathematical Olympiad.
I am mainly interested in the areas of biostatistics, statistical programming, machine learning, survey estimation, experimental design, and statistical consulting.
One of the things I enjoy the most of being a statistician is working on multidisciplinary projects. I have collaborated with professionals in the fields of Biotechnology, Engineering, Biology, Microbiology, Geology, Soil and Crop Sciences, and Animal Sciences, among others. Feel free to contact me if you are interested in starting a collaboration.
A few years ago, I wrote an entry for the CSU Global Connections blog where I shared my journey as a graduate student in USA. You are welcome to read it here .
